Privacy Terms Support

Operator. Quotie is operated by Muhammed Kılınç, an independent developer based in Türkiye. Contact: hello@muhammedkilinc.com.

In short

  • Quotie works without an account — your bookmarks and settings stay on your device.
  • We show ads to free users via Google AdMob. Premium subscribers see no ads.
  • We collect anonymous usage and crash data to improve the app.
  • We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third-party advertising networks beyond what AdMob requires for ad delivery.
  • Whether you are in the EU, UK, US, Türkiye, or elsewhere, the rights described below apply to you.

This Privacy Policy explains how Quotie (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Quotie app (the “Service”).

What we collect

  • Anonymous usage and performance data. Aggregate, non-identifiable events (screens viewed, features used, session length) collected via Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
  • Anonymous crash reports. Stack traces and device/OS metadata captured by Firebase Crashlytics when something breaks.
  • Subscription state. When you subscribe, your purchase and renewal state are managed through the Apple App Store and RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
  • Ad-related identifiers. Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob, which may collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA) and coarse location to serve relevant ads, subject to your ATT consent choice on iOS 14+. You can withdraw consent at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Local data (on-device only). Bookmarked quotes and app preferences are stored locally in SwiftData on your device. This data does not leave your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Quotie does not require you to create an account or provide any personally identifiable information to use the core features of the app.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Diagnose crashes and performance issues.
  • Manage subscriptions and determine entitlement to the ad-free premium tier.
  • Deliver contextually relevant advertisements to free-tier users through Google AdMob.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (EU / UK / EEA)

Where GDPR applies, we process data on the following bases:

  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Service stable and improve it with anonymous, aggregated diagnostics.
  • Consent — for personalized advertising (IDFA / ATT), push notifications, and any optional analytics that goes beyond anonymous aggregate data.
  • Contract — to fulfill the premium subscription you purchased.

Third-party services

  • Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google) — Anonymous usage and crash reporting. Data is aggregated and not linked to a personal identity.
  • Google AdMob — Ad delivery for free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and coarse location for ad targeting, subject to your ATT consent choice. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management and entitlement verification. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user ID and purchase receipts. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store (StoreKit 2) — Subscription and in-app purchase management.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share personal data with advertising networks beyond what is necessary for AdMob to serve ads (and only then subject to your ATT consent).

Advertising and consent (ATT)

On iOS 14 and later, Quotie requests your permission to use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads and will not use the IDFA for tracking. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Quotie.

Premium subscribers do not see any ads and AdMob is not loaded for their sessions.

Data storage, retention, and transfers

We do not operate our own server-side user database. Analytics and crash data is held by Google on managed infrastructure and subject to Google’s data residency and retention policies. RevenueCat holds subscription records for as long as required to manage your subscription and comply with applicable law. Our processors may process data outside your country and rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for international transfers.

Your local on-device data (bookmarks, preferences) is controlled entirely by you and can be removed by deleting the app.

Your rights

Anyone can request information, correction, or deletion of any personal data we hold by emailing hello@muhammedkilinc.com. We will respond within 30 days.

EU / UK / EEA residents (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw any consent you previously gave (including ATT consent).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you.
  • Opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information — we do not sell personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond AdMob (subject to your ATT consent).
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

Türkiye residents (KVKK)

Quotie operates in compliance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data. Turkish residents have the rights granted under KVKK Article 11, including access, rectification, deletion, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).

Children

Quotie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Subscriptions

Subscribing to Quotie Premium removes all advertisements and unlocks additional content and features. Subscription details, renewal, and cancellation are managed through your Apple ID; we do not see or store your payment information.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
